Advertise Animals

Advertising animals with Findafurry is free!

Findafurry helps small pets across the UK to find new homes by providing an ethical place on the web for them to be advertised. We are underpinned by an ethical code, which includes guidelines about the donations you can ask for when rehoming your animals - you cannot 'sell' animals (by which we mean make a profit from them) via Findafurry. Please read the Findafurry code, which all advertisers need to sign up to in order to use the site.

We have four categories you can advertise under:

- Rehomes
These are animals that you own but can no longer look after. Please give a reason for the animal being rehomed in your advert and mention whether any cages or accessories are available (although refer to our code for the money question). If you need to rehome the animal urgently (within a week) then please start your title with 'Urgent' - someone may see your advert who can offer to foster your pet in the short term and then find a permanent new home on your behalf.

N .B: If you are a breeder, we do not accept adverts for rehoming 'surplus stock'.

- Rescued animals
Whether you run an animal rescue or have just taken in the occasional waif and stray, findafurry will advertise your rescued animal alongside all the other adverts. If you have rescued a pregnant animal, please include their babies under the rescue section, rather than accidental litter.

- Accidental Litters
For those baby animals that have not been planned! Needless to say really, but you should not be needing to advertise accidental litters frequently - and we will be monitoring this! If you feel you need help with the situation, please contact one of the member organisations or support websites for your animal, or speak to your local vet or rescue centre who should be able to offer advice.

- Planned Litters (with family history)
For baby animals that have been planned but, for whatever reason, homes have not been found. We would recommend you use a waiting list system for planned litters and do not rely on Findafurry, but we know that sometimes this site may be a helpful safety net.

How to add an advert

  • First read the findafurry code. All advertisers must sign up to this code as a mark of good, ethical animal care.
  • Second, set up an account - click here to register with findafurry!
  • Once you've set up an account, you'll be able to add, edit and delete adverts by going to your Member's Area. You can return to this area at any time by clicking on the key symbol at the top left of the site

Once you've submitted an advert, it will be sent to us to approve it for the site - so don't worry if it doesn't appear immediately. We will try to check the adverts that are waiting to be approved daily, but we may take longer sometimes.

Adverts will expire after six weeks, or you can choose to extend them.
