Welcome to Findafurry!

We believe that making profit from the sale of pets does not encourage good animal care...
We believe that buying animals on impulse contributes to the huge numbers of unwanted pets in the UK...

We believe there is a better way...

Findafurry is a free website run by volunteers, an ethical place for rehoming small pets. Both the website and the pets advertised here are not-for-profit.

News

6th June 2009 - Oh Gosh - one eyed chinchilla!
Sometimes an animal comes along who needs as much help as they can get. Poor Dizzy the chinchilla has not only been dumped in a box, she's lost an eye and has no friends! She's with the RSPCA in Harrow (NW London) and her full details can be found by clicking on the 'other' button to the left of this page. Can anyone help find Dizzy a home? Please give a shout out for Dizzy on your Facebook, Twitter, Bebo or any other place you think might help. Thank you!

10th February 2009 - Veterinary practices can now sign up for their own Findafurry account

30th April 2009 - We are tweeting!
Findafurry now has a Twitter account. Follow us @findafurry to keep up to date with what we're up to.

10th February 2009 - Veterinary practices can now sign up for their own Findafurry account

We know that often veterinary practices help to rehome animals, so we have created a veterinary practice account to help them do it. If you know a vet's that might find this site useful, please let them know. They can create their account by clicking on 'Log in'.

18th December 2008 - Findafurry wishes everyone a very happy new year, especially to all the pets who are spending the festive season waiting for a new human.

There are many animals who would love to be in their new home for Christmas - but not as a present that will be boring by January! If you think you have room in your home and your heart for a pet this December, hopefully Findafurry will be able to help, but don't be tempted to give a pet as a present - we don't want to see them back on Findafurry in the new year!
Merry Christmas everyone!

26th August 2008 - Do you know of a rescue centre that would find this site useful?

We have just made some improvements to our rescue centre member accounts. If you know of a rescue centre that has small animals to rehome, please encourage them to try Findafurry.

21st July 2008 - Are you a fan of Findafurry?

You can now become our fan on Facebook! Search for www.findafurry.co.uk on Facebook, become our fan and stay up to date with all the latest Findafurry developments.

6th July 2008 - Findafurry is gathering momentum! Help us to find more people looking for pets...

If you support Findafurry in our mission to take small pets out of the profit equation then we need your help! If you have a website, or you write for a website, a blog or a forum - even if it isn't animal related - then please link to Findafurry. Not only could your link be seen by someone who is looking for a new pet, or who needs to rehome a small animal, but it will be picked up by the search engines and will help us to be ranked higher when people search for pet-related things!
Take a look at the 'Spread the Word' page for more ideas to help!

12th June 2008 - We've been away - and now we're back! Findafurry re-launches!

As our developers have been off travelling around Asia for the past six months, Findafurry has been a bit neglected. However, they're back and on a mission to put the world (and Findafurry) to rights and rehome more small furries than ever before. There are loads of new features on the site and a brand new look - we hope you like it!

We are now accepting new adverts for animals to be rehomed - so if you know of any small furries looking for new homes, let their owners know about Findafurry! Even if you don't, you can really help us by getting Findafurry mentioned in as many places as possible - spread the word!

Anyone interested in getting involved with Findafurry's re-launch or finding out more can also join our Facebook group or make friends with us on Myspace or Petstreet.
